If you don’t have time to sew a whole quilt, but would still like to contribute something, the Courthouse Steps block is a great place to start! Sew one, two, or even a dozen of the Courthouse Steps blocks, and send them to us. When we have enough blocks for one blanket/quilt, we’ll put them together and do the rest of the work. We’ll even provide fabric if you need it.
It should print out at 6.5″ square. At that size, it can be used as a foundation for a paper-pieced block, or you may use it simply as a placement guide if you are already familiar with sewing log cabin style quilts. If you use it for foundation piecing, as long as your finished block measures anywhere from 6.25″ to 6.75″ – we can work with it. If you don’t know how to assemble a log cabin/courthouse steps block, click on any of the links below. Try some of the variations too – you never know how they’ll turn out! 🙂
