We’ll start off the new year by working on easy Pre-K naptime coverlets. We have an annual commitment to make 45 for the PAEC Migrant Farm Worker Summer Day Dare Program. That’s a lot of blankets, so to avoid having a panic attack in late Spring, we work on this project all through the year. We already have blanket kits assembled and ready to go. Please either join us and stitch with the group, or stop by and pick up a kit or two to take home and complete. If you’d like to use up some of your own fabric stash on this worth-while project, please see our website for the specifications.

Another task we need help with is for a couple people to work on reorganizing our fabric storage cabinets.

Our mission is to sew and make blankets for children who need some extra warmth and comfort in their lives. Just for the Pre-K coverlet project alone, we use 80 yards of novelty cotton and 80 yards of coordinating flannel every year. Therefore we can always use yardage of cotton novelty quilting fabric, solids and blenders of cotton quilting fabric, solids and blenders of flannel, and quilt batting. Currently we’re also accepting unfinished quilt tops — as long as the pattern is something that will appeal to kids. Right now we have plenty of small scraps and plenty of fabric for older or more mature tastes.

May the coming year bring you many Blessings of joy, peace, and prosperity.

Thanks for all you do,
