September Play Dates

Hi, thank you for taking the time to read our short reminder.
We’ll be at ARTS After School, 3510 Weems Road from 10 – 3 on Saturdays, September 1 & 15. Brown bag lunch from 11:30 – 12:30.
Please join us as we make quilts and blankets for children who are homeless, impoverished, or in crisis. We have many projects in various stages of completion, so we’ll just work on whatever strikes our fancy. It just depends on who shows up and what they feel like working on. At this time we’re also making a quilt for Dr. Carla Hutchinson, one of the ARTS After School executive directors. It’s through her generosity, that we have such a perfect place to meet and work. Anyway, her quilt-top is finished and it’s pin-basted, so it’s ready to be machine quilted. Unless someone volunteers to do that PDQ, I’ll be doing the quilting on that during our meetings at ARTS. I’ll need someone to help me wrangle it at the sewing machine. Please!
We are in need of  ½ yard lemon yellow batik fabric. The fabric we’re trying to match is tone on tone, lemon yellow, with printed lemons and leaves. We also need ½ yard of bright, multi-colored batik in lemon, lime, teal, peacock blue, indigo, purple, and raspberry. The fabric we’re trying to match has stylized roses with stems and leaves. We need the fabrics to match or coordinate with the large triangles in the photo below. Sorry about the bad camera angle.
Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers who make beautiful quilts and blankets for children they’ll never know. You are a blessing.
Thanks for all you do,
