October 2018 Sew for Hope Play Days and Info

Thanks to all our volunteers and donors, we’re stronger than ever. To date we’ve given about 1,850 handmade quilts and blankets to children who’ve stayed at HOPE Community Homeless Shelter in Tallahassee. Sew for Hope accepts donations of fabric, quilt tops, partially made quilts, and sewing supplies. With help from Quilter’s Unlimited Quilt Guild in Tallahassee, we make and finish quilts. We then give those quilts to children who are homeless, impoverished, or in crisis. We meet twice a month* to play, organize, design quilts, cut fabric, sew, make quilt top kits, baste quilts, and of course the most fun of all — pressing fabric (which is not so bad when you’re with a bunch of really fun, kind, generous women).
This month we’ll meet October 6th and 20th.
10 – 3 with brown bag lunch from 11:30 – 12:30
We always meet at ARTS After School.
3510 Weems Road
Donations should be delivered before 11:30.
Clean up begins at 2:30.
We frequently need volunteers to launder fabric. If you’re willing, or even considering please reply to this email.
Thanks for all you do,
*We only meet the first Saturday of the month in November and in December. In all other months we meet the first and third Saturdays.
