Please Read Sew for Hope Kids April, 2019

Good Morning,
Our next play days will be April 6 & 20. We meet from 10 – 3 with brown bag lunch with show and tell from 11:30 – 12:30. We meet at ARTS After School, 3510 Weems Road. For detailed directions, visit our website.
In April we’ll continue working on PAEC naptime coverlets. This is always our biggest project of the year because we have a deadline to deliver 61 blankets. Our April plan is to complete the blankets for 2019 and then work ahead for 2020.We’ve decided to match fabric, cut (to size), and make “project kits”. That way we’ll be prepared when volunteers are looking for a simple project to take home and sew.
The PAEC project required a lot of yardage. We’re always going to need flannel and it frequently goes on sale at JoAnn. Today it’s 60% off (hint hint). We’d love to have pieces that are at least 1 2/3 – 2 yard pieces. And with your 50% off coupon you could also buy the same size piece of novelty cotton that coordinates (wink wink). Our recipients for these coverlets are 3 and 4 years old. Also, if it’s not too much trouble could you please launder the fabric before donating. Flannel shrinks quite a bit in the wash, and cotton has a sizing on it from the factory that a lot of people are sensitive to. All our fabric gets laundered before use.
Well, that’s all the news for now. But I would like to thank the kind people of Tallahassee who have made Sew for Hope so successful. Also thank you to Quilter’s Unlimited and Marianne at The Quilt Peddler.
Thanks for all you do,
Cynthia and the Sew for Hope Sisters
