Dear Sewing Sisters,

As I write this it is pouring down rain – hope you’re all cozy indoors and sewing on your quilts!

In April we will meet on the 6th and the 20th from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm at St. Stephen Lutheran Church located at 2198 North Meridian Road. Bring your lunch to enjoy and your projects for Show and Tell at noon. Stay as long as you like, leave when you must.

We have about 6 more PAEC coverlets to make – we have the fabric to be cut to size and sewn. It’ll be terrific to get this project finished in April. On another front, several of us are working toward making kits out of bits of fabric we have in our stash. It’s a big job, but we can already see the results. Of course, feel free to continue working on your own projects too.

The quilt the group created for Blake, the graduating senior at St. Stephen, is almost complete! Our group pieced the top during our last meeting, and Christy already has it quilted and bound. Cindy created a lovely label for the back written by the church, “For Blake, God’s Love Blanket, Love St. Stephen and Sew for Hope” Donna will sew the label to the quilt and we’ll be finished. Woohoo! I’m proud of how everyone worked together to get this done so quickly. Here’s a pix from Christy:

We were told that Blake likes bright colors, so I’m sure she’ll be thrilled with this blanket. Wonderfully done!!! Thank you!!

Hugs,
Sandra
